toyota tarago vs kia carnival Page 3

Both are seven/eight-seat people-movers, but they’re from different eras: the Tarago is the dependable old mate, the Carnival is the feature-packed modern superstar. Think of it as “bulletproof minimalism” versus “tech-savvy lounge room on wheels.”

• Toyota Tarago — Pros: renowned reliability, smooth petrol engines, easy-driving size, sliding doors. Cons: older safety tech and infotainment, tighter cabin and cargo than newer rivals, discontinued so you’re shopping used.
• Kia Carnival — Pros: huge interior, modern safety suite, strong petrol V6 or frugal diesel options, long warranty in Australia. Cons: bigger footprint for city parking, higher purchase price, ride can feel firm on big wheels.

Choose based on priorities: if you want rock-solid simplicity at used prices, Tarago; if you crave space and new-age features, Carnival. No wrong answers—just different school runs.
