Trinomial Cube - AMA040

Ideal for the elderly person who likes puzzles and who wants to keep their brain sharp!

The Trinomial Cube is a concrete representation of the algebraic formula (a+b+c)3 . The factors of the equation are represented by cubes and prisms.

The aim of the activity is to build the cube. Once the box is opened all the pieces should be carefully removed and placed on the table beside or in front of the empty box. The two solid sides of the box will help the user to align the cubes with the corner as they rebuild the cube. Once completed the open sides can be closed and the lid can be placed on top.

It is a brain exercise that can be done alone, with friends or with a support carer helping the user.
The set consists of a hinged box containing:
- Three wooden cubes: red, blue, and yellow.
- Eighteen square based prisms.

3 red and black, the same height as the blue cube.
3 red and black, the same height as the yellow cube.
3 yellow and black, the same height as the red cube.
3 yellow and black, the same height as the blue cube.
3 blue and black, the same height as the yellow cube.
3 blue and black, the same height as the red prism.

- Six black rectangular based prisms, whose 3 dimensions correspond to the edge of the red, blue, and yellow cubes.
- Three wooden cubes: red, blue, and yellow.

All the pieces, once assembled, form a cube of a trinomial (a+b+c)3
The square of the trinomial is painted on the lid.
