Moving south of the Murray? You’ve got 3 months to transfer your NSW licence to Victoria before VicRoads starts giving you the teacher look.
Book a VicRoads licensing appointment, bring proof of identity, proof of your Victorian residential address, and your current NSW licence — you’ll surrender it for a shiny Vic one. They’ll check your details, take a photo, do an eyesight check, and charge a fee; if your interstate licence is current and equivalent, tests are usually not required. P-platers get mapped to the equivalent Victorian stage (P1/P2) with the same remaining time. You’ll leave with a temporary receipt and the card turns up in the post shortly after. Easy enough — just don’t wait until the day your rego reminder arrives.
