transfer of car ownership qld Page 6

Ah, the joyous ritual of handing over your beloved chariot in Queensland. To transfer car ownership here, you’ll need to complete the 'Application for Transfer of Registration' form, gather your proof of identity, and, naturally, the vehicle's registration papers. The buyer must lodge this with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads within 14 days of purchase to avoid penalties. Expect to pay a transfer fee, which generally hovers around $40 to $50 AUD. Pro tip: both parties should keep copies of all paperwork because bureaucracy loves a good paper trail. For the most up-to-date and official info, consult the Queensland government’s transport website or check listings on Tradingpost for vehicles already primed for quick transfers.
