transfer of vehicle ownership qld Page 11

Transferring vehicle ownership in Queensland is a bureaucratic joyride. You need to submit a completed Transfer of Vehicle Registration form along with the original registration papers. The buyer must lodge the transfer within 14 days of purchase to avoid penalties. Fees apply, typically around $38 for private transfers, but check the latest from the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Don't forget a safety certificate if it's not a brand-new car. For paperwork enthusiasts, Tradingpost and CarShowroom sometimes have handy guides and reminders.
