transfer ownership car nsw Page 4

Transferring ownership of a car in NSW is about as thrilling as watching paint dry, but it's got to be done. The process involves completing a Notice of Disposal form and submitting it to Service NSW within 14 days of selling or giving away the vehicle. The buyer also needs to lodge a transfer application and pay the transfer fee—around $34 for most vehicles. Don't forget, both parties must ensure the vehicle's registration is current, and a safety inspection might be required if the vehicle's registration has expired.

For the actual paperwork and to avoid getting your knickers in a twist, check out ServiceCentral or Service NSW's official resources. And if you're hunting for a new set of wheels or buyer info, Tradingpost or CarShowroom can be your mates.
