Hyundai Tucson or Kia Sportage? They’re platform twins, sharing engines (2.0 petrol FWD, 1.6T AWD, 2.0 diesel AWD) and now hybrid options, plus near-identical safety and size.

Tucson: pros include a comfier ride and clean cabin ergonomics; cons are a shorter 5-year warranty versus Kia’s seven and pricing that climbs with options.

Sportage: pros include the 7-year warranty, flashy tech and slightly bigger boot in some trims; cons are a firmer ride on big wheels and GT-Line pricing that bites.

Interior tech and driver aids are much of a muchness, and both feel nicely screwed together for family duty.

New pricing usually spans the mid-$30k to mid-$50k (AUD) before on-roads, while used examples run from the high teens to the mid-$40s depending on age and kilometres.

No winner here—test-drive both back-to-back and buy the one your spine and driveway prefer.
