used car cooling off period nsw Page 5

Ah, the mythical cooling-off period for used cars in New South Wales—spoiler alert, it doesn't exist. Once you sign on the dotted line for a private sale, the deal's done and dusted; no take-backs, no refunds, no second chances. However, if you buy from a licensed dealer, you might have some protections under consumer law, but a specific cooling-off period? Nope. Always inspect thoroughly, use your noggin, and maybe get a mechanic to look the car over before parting with your hard-earned dosh. For more details, the NSW Fair Trading website or ServiceCentral might offer some clarity.
