ute camper setup Page 149

Turning a ute into a cosy bush palace is easier than convincing your mates you don’t snore.

Start with a canopy or platform rack, add a dual-battery system (DC-DC charger, 100Ah AGM or LiFePO4), and a fridge slide with proper ventilation.

Drawer storage and a flat sleeping platform keep chaos contained; throw on a 270° awning and LED camp lights for smug campsite glow.

Mind the kilos: know your GVM, balance weight over the axle, and upgrade suspension if the bum sags like a week-old pav.

Carry 40–60 L of water, a compressor, recovery gear, and dust sealing—red dirt sneaks in faster than bad karaoke.
