The 2023 Bathurst 1000 was won by Shane van Gisbergen and Richie Stanaway for Red Bull Ampol Racing in a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1—because Mount Panorama still rewards the brave and mildly unhinged.

They knocked over 161 laps of the 6.213 km circuit for the full 1000 km, kicking off the Great Race in the Gen3 era.

Pole went to Brodie Kostecki in the #99 Camaro, with strategy swings and Safety Cars keeping everyone’s nerves crispier than a servo hash brown.

Big crowds, loud V8s, and a victory burnout that said “see you in the history books.”
