v8 supercars mustang Page 2

The Ford Mustang made waves in the V8 Supercars series, especially during the Ford vs Holden days, bringing American muscle into a fiercely Aussie arena. The Mustang GT in V8 Supercars packs a 5.0-litre V8 engine belting out around 460 horsepower, paired with a sophisticated race-tuned suspension and aerodynamic bodywork tailored for the brutal circuits Down Under. New Mustangs retail from about $60,000 AUD, but the race-prepped beasts in V8 Supercars are a different beast altogether, often costing upwards of seven figures to build and run professionally. Used race cars or replicas can sometimes pop up on Tradingpost or CarShowroom, but brace yourself for a wallet-whimper.
