Yes, you can absolutely DIY a vehicle receipt in Australia—just make sure it covers the important bits so no one argues later. Include buyer and seller full names, addresses and contact details, plus licence numbers if you want to be extra proper. List the vehicle’s VIN, rego, make, model, year, colour and the odometer reading at handover. State the price in AUD, deposit (if any), balance paid, date/time of sale, and whether it’s sold as-is with clear title (PPSR check recommended). Finish with signatures from both parties (and a witness if you’re feeling fancy), and give each person a copy with a receipt number. Requirements can vary by state, so check your local road authority’s guidance and keep everything honest, legible and dated.
