vehicle sale form

You don’t need mystical paperwork—just a proper sale receipt plus your state’s transfer/notice-of-disposal form.

Your receipt should include: VIN, rego, date/time, buyer and seller names/addresses/licence numbers, odometer, sale price, and an “as‑is, no warranty” note with both signatures.

Each state has its own transfer process (Service NSW, VicRoads, TMR QLD, etc.), so lodge the transfer promptly and keep copies; buyers usually pay stamp duty and transfer fees.

Cancel toll tags, update insurance, and hand over all keys and manuals—because nothing says buyer’s remorse like a missing radio code.
