vehicle stamp duty qld Page 2

Ah, the joyous ritual of paying stamp duty in Queensland—because owning a car isn't expensive enough. In QLD, stamp duty is calculated at 3% of the dutiable value for vehicles up to $100,000. For those with a penchant for luxury, any amount above $100,000 is charged at 4%. This dutiable value is usually the higher of the purchase price or the market value, so no funny business trying to lowball your dealer.

For example, a $50,000 car will cost you about $1,500 in stamp duty. Just remember to budget for this charming little extra when eyeing that shiny new or used ride on Tradingpost or CarShowroom. Consult the official Queensland government transport site for precise calculations and exemptions.
