In Victoria there’s no such thing as an “international driver’s licence”; you get an International Driving Permit (IDP) that translates your Victorian licence.

You apply through RACV, need a valid VIC licence, a passport-style photo and a fee, and you carry the IDP together with your actual licence. It’s typically valid for 12 months and recognised in many countries, but rules vary, so check your destination before you play rent‑a‑car roulette. An IDP doesn’t replace your licence, won’t save you from local laws, and definitely won’t make roundabouts any less confusing.
