Ah, the international driving permit (IDP) saga—because apparently your Aussie licence isn't enough to show off overseas. VicRoads issues the IDP as a translation of your current Australian driver licence, not a standalone licence. It’s valid for 12 months from the date of issue and is recognised in over 150 countries, handy for those globe-trotting adventures.
Key points:
Before you hit the road abroad, check the country-specific requirements and ensure your licence and IDP combo covers you. For official details and application forms, VicRoads is your go-to.
