victoria car history check Page 14

Doing a Victoria car history check is easier than parallel parking on a hill. Start with a PPSR report using the VIN; for a couple of dollars it shows finance owing, stolen status, and written-off history nationwide. Then run a free VicRoads rego check to confirm registration status, expiry, and that the VIN/engine numbers match. Ask the seller for logbooks and receipts, look for consistent odometer entries, and get a pre-purchase inspection—because shiny tyres lie. Avoid repairable write-offs; in Victoria most can’t be re-registered, so verify status on the WOVR and with VicRoads before you fall in love. Don’t hand over cash until the PPSR says “no security interest,” and get the VIN early if you’re shopping on places like Tradingpost (tradingpost.com.au).
