victoria mobile phone detection cameras Page 752

Victoria’s mobile phone detection cameras are the silent types—no flashing lights, just crisp images of drivers having a cheeky scroll when they shouldn’t.

They run day and night in all weather on major roads and arterials, and they’ll ping you whether you’re moving or parked at the lights with the phone in your hand or lap.

Expect a solid fine and demerit points if you’re caught; learner and provisional drivers face even stricter no‑phone rules.

Use a proper cradle with Bluetooth or pull over, park, and switch off—simple, legal, and less stressful than explaining it to your insurer.

Short version: keep your thumbs off the screen and your eyes on the road; the cameras don’t blink.
