victoria p license Page 37

In Victoria, the provisional (P) licence kicks off at 18 and runs for four years—P1 (red) for 12 months then P2 (green) for three.

You must display P plates front and rear, keep BAC at 0.00, and you can’t use a phone at all—no hands‑free, no texts, no “just changing the song”.

High‑powered vehicle restrictions apply to many V8s and turbo/supercharged petrol cars unless you’ve got an exemption.

There’s no special P‑plate speed cap in Victoria, so stick to the posted limits and behave like someone who wants cheaper insurance one day.

Rules and fees do evolve, so check the latest from VicRoads before booking tests or buying wheels.
