victorian car registration cost Page 8

Ah, the joyous annual ritual of Victorian car registration costs—because who doesn't love forking out for the privilege of driving on public roads? The cost varies depending on your vehicle's weight and usage, but for a typical passenger car, expect to cough up around $800 to $1,200 AUD per year. This includes compulsory third-party insurance (CTP), which is basically a legal bribe to cover you when you inevitably ding someone else's door. Heavier vehicles or those used for commercial purposes will pay more, naturally. For the thrifty or those with older vehicles, there are discounts or concessions available—though you’ll need to dive into the labyrinthine official VicRoads documentation to figure out what applies to you. For the freshest and most accurate figures, check out VicRoads or browse recent listings on Tradingpost and CarShowroom to gauge real-world costs.
