volkswagen golf review 2015 Page 4

The 2015 Volkswagen Golf is the moment Germany decided everyday hatchbacks should feel a bit premium without charging you the GDP of a small nation. The Mk7 chassis is light and tidy, so it corners neatly and rides like it’s been to finishing school; even the 1.4 TSI petrol is punchy yet frugal. Inside, the cabin quality shames many rivals of the era, with straightforward controls and seats that don’t turn long trips into chiropractic experiments. The DSG auto is slick on the move, though it can fidget at low speeds, and long-term owners keep an eye on water-pump leaks and the odd infotainment gremlin. If you want spice, the GTI brings proper pace and the R turns it up to “license-endangering,” but even the regular trims are a sweet daily. In short: sensible, sorted, and still a solid used buy if the service history is as tidy as the shut lines.
