vw amarok 2023 review Page 3

The 2023 VW Amarok is the Ranger’s savvy cousin—the one who borrowed the homework and then ironed the shirt. Built on shared bones, it adds a more polished cabin, crisp tech, and a pleasingly solid door thunk.

On-road it rides comfortably for a ute, and with a V6 turbo-diesel option and 3,500 kg towing, it hauls boats, trailers, and egos with equal ease. Off-road modes, a big touchscreen, and robust safety kit make weekday commutes and weekend bush runs equally painless.

Downsides? It’s not cheap, some driver aids can fuss like a back-seat navigator, and servicing isn’t exactly pocket change.

If you want dual-cab toughness with a dash of sophistication, this is a very tidy package—just budget like a grown-up.
