vw amarok vs ford ranger 2023 Page 3

Comparing the 2023 VW Amarok and Ford Ranger is like arguing over identical twins: same bones, different personalities.

The Amarok leans premium—pros: classy interior trim, strong V6 diesel (≈184 kW/600 Nm), and calm highway manners; cons: pricier options and a smaller dealer network in regional Australia.

The Ranger plays the crowd—pros: broad lineup (incl. Wildtrak and Raptor), slick portrait infotainment with over-the-air smarts, and a massive accessories ecosystem; cons: lower-spec cabins feel workmanlike and unladen ride can jiggle.

Both offer 2.0 bi-turbo diesels (≈154 kW/500 Nm) and a 10-speed auto, with available full-time 4x4 on V6 models and a 3,500 kg braked towing claim.

Off-road ability and safety tech are neck-and-neck; your backside and driveway are the real judges.
