Volkswagen servicing in Australia typically runs on 12-month/15,000 km intervals, and many models are covered by fixed-price Service Care plans. For common petrol models (think Golf/Tiguan), a minor service is usually around $350–$500 and a major sits roughly $650–$900 at dealers, with good independents often 10–20% less. DSG gearbox fluid and filter at 60,000 km can add $500–$800, and Haldex AWD servicing is usually another $200–$350 in fluids. Brake fluid changes every two years are about $120–$180, while spark plugs and filters can nudge a big service toward the top of the range.

Diesel timing belt jobs (e.g., 2.0 TDI) are generally due between 120,000–210,000 km or 5–7 years, and you’re looking at roughly $900–$1,500 with the water pump. Prices vary by model, state, and who’s twirling the spanners, so get a written quote and check VW’s Service Care bundles for savings.
