vw t roc 2023 review Page 2

The 2023 VW T‑Roc is the small SUV that sips a latte but still fancies a B-road blast. The 110TSI’s 1.4‑litre turbo (110 kW/250 Nm, FWD) is smooth and sensible, while the 140TSI R‑Line adds AWD and extra shove for proper back-road composure; the R turns the wick up to hot-hatch silly. Ride and handling are neatly tied down, but the cabin mixes classy touch points with some harder plastics that squeak under probing fingers. Infotainment is sharp yet those touch sliders can be fiddly on the move—like trying to butter toast in a speed bump zone. Safety tech is comprehensive, and real-world economy is decent if you resist the right pedal. If you want something small that drives like a Volkswagen should, this one wears its badge proudly.
