On a Holden VY ute, the fuel filter sits under the vehicle near the fuel tank, mounted along a chassis rail just ahead of the rear wheel.
Look for a small metal canister with quick-connect fittings — follow the fuel lines from the tank and you’ll find it.
Depressurise the system first, support the ute safely, and note the flow arrow when installing the new filter.
Later VE models moved the filter into the tank, but VY keeps this external, serviceable unit.
If the fittings are stubborn, a dab of penetrant and a proper fuel-line tool will save you from driveway poetry.
