wa zev rebate Page 36

Chasing the WA ZEV rebate? Yes, the state chips in to the tune of $3,500 if you buy a bona fide zero‑emission car.

It applies to new battery‑electric or hydrogen fuel‑cell vehicles (not plug‑in hybrids) with a dutiable value capped at around $70,000.

You’ll need the car registered in WA and to lodge the claim via the Department of Transport after purchase; numbers are capped, so timing matters.

If you’re split between EV and PHEV, note the rebate doesn’t touch PHEVs—policy eyebrow duly raised.

Check the WA Government site for current status and cut‑off dates before you commit, unless you enjoy paperwork marathons without medals.
