“WOVI registered” means a vehicle has passed a Written-Off Vehicle Inspection (WOVI) after being recorded on the written-off register, commonly in Queensland (with similar processes elsewhere).
It’s an identity and repair check to ensure the car isn’t a ringer and the fixes aren’t held together with hopes and zip ties.
Passing WOVI doesn’t guarantee rego; you’ll still need a roadworthy/safety certificate and to meet your state’s rules, and statutory write-offs can’t be registered at all.
In short: it’s a post-repair tick that allows a previously written-off car to re-enter the system, not a magical VIP pass to the open road.
