what oil for amarok v6 Page 4

For the VW Amarok V6 TDI, use a fully synthetic oil that meets VW 507.00 (low-ash) specification—most commonly a 5W-30 (some manuals also allow 0W-30).

This spec plays nicely with the DPF and long-service intervals, whereas random “diesel” oils do not.

Stick with ACEA C3 oils carrying the VW approval on the label, change the filter, and don’t mix brands like a cocktail shaker.

If you tow, idle, or see lots of dust and heat, shorten the interval and check levels—these V6s are tough, not magic.

Always confirm your exact engine code and interval in the owner’s manual; service bulletins beat pub talk every time. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
