what stereo fits my car australia Page 8

Figuring out what stereo fits your car in Australia isn’t witchcraft—start by measuring the dash opening: most cars take Single-DIN (~50 mm) or Double-DIN (~100 mm) units. You’ll likely need a vehicle-specific fascia kit, a plug‑and‑play harness (ISO or brand-specific), and possibly a steering‑wheel control/CANBUS module so the buttons still do button-y things. If the cavity is shallow, look for a short‑chassis head unit and check depth around HVAC ducts before you jam it in like a badly made meat pie.

Use an Australian fitment guide (Aerpro’s is the usual go-to) or your head unit brand’s lookup—just punch in your make, model, and year. Don’t forget aerial adapters (DIN/ISO/FAKRA) and, on some Toyotas and Euros, oddball plugs that need the right patch leads. If you’d rather not tango with plastic clips, installers at Supercheap Auto, Repco, Autobarn, or a local auto sparky will sort it for you without turning the dash into confetti.
