whats tare weight Page 14

Tare weight, in the world of vehicles and trailers, is basically the weight of the empty rig—no passengers, no cargo, no excuses. It's the baseline mass your ride carries when it's as bare as a nudist on a nude beach. For example, a typical car might have a tare weight around 1,200 to 1,800 kg, depending on size and gizmos. Knowing this helps you figure out your maximum payload and avoid turning your vehicle into a rolling disaster. Always check the manufacturer’s plate or manual for the exact figure before you start loading up.
