when can children sit in the front seat Page 8

In Australia, children under the age of 7 are legally required to sit in the rear seats using an appropriate child restraint. Once they hit 7 years, they may sit in the front seat, but with a caveat: the front passenger airbag must be disabled if the child is in a rear-facing restraint. For kids between 7 and 12, rear seats remain the safest spot, but the law permits front seating if rear seats are occupied by younger children. Always check your state or territory's road safety regulations and consult your vehicle manual. And no, just because your little terror insists on the front seat doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.
