In Australia, you can only drive on the beach where it’s clearly permitted—signs, permits and common sense required.

Popular legal spots include K’gari (Fraser Island), Bribie Island and Noosa North Shore in Queensland; parts of Lancelin, Lucky Bay (Esperance) and Preston Beach in Western Australia; and sections of Goolwa and Robe’s Long Beach in South Australia.

Check local council or parks sites for permits, seasonal closures and speed limits, drop tyre pressures to about 16–20 psi, and keep one eye on the tide.

Avoid soft dunes, stay off vegetation, and wash the salt off after—your chassis will thank you.
