where to service my car Page 8

For a new car, the dealer is convenient, but in Australia you can use any licensed mechanic and keep your warranty if they follow the logbook and use appropriate-quality parts.

Dealers offer capped-price servicing and software updates; independents often win on labour rates and actual eye contact.

Specialist workshops suit European or performance models, while a good mobile mechanic can handle routine work at your place.

Check reviews, get a written quote, confirm parts (genuine or equivalent), and make sure your logbook is stamped—keep the invoices.

If you’re comparing options, ServiceCentral can help you line up quotes without sacrificing your Saturday.

Bottom line: go where qualifications, transparency, and convenience meet your budget; your warranty’s safe if the rules above are followed.
