why does paypal take so long

PayPal isn’t dawdling for sport; money has to tiptoe through a few hoops before it lands in your Aussie account.

• Banks: transfers and settlements can take business days, and weekends/public holidays are about as swift as a sleepy koala.
• Risk checks: large or unusual payments may trigger reviews, holds, or reserves to keep fraud at bay.
• Funding source: card chargebacks, eCheque-style bank pulls, or currency conversion add extra pit stops.
• Account setup: unverified details, mismatched names, or outdated bank info make the system pump the brakes.

Use instant transfers (where supported), keep your details verified, and expect delays if anything looks quirky to the robots.
