Chasing WOVR info in Victoria? It’s the Written‑Off Vehicle Register VicRoads uses to record cars insurers have declared done and dusted.

There are two flavours: Statutory Write‑Off (can’t be re‑registered, ever) and Repairable Write‑Off (may return to the road after proper repairs, a VIV inspection, and a roadworthy).

To check a car, run its VIN through the PPSR (about $2) or a VicRoads vehicle status check; both will flag WOVR history and any finance owing.
