capped price servicing meaning Page 38

“Capped price servicing” is manufacturer-speak for a published maximum you’ll pay for scheduled logbook services over a set time or kilometre window.

It usually covers the basics on the service schedule, not wear-and-tear bits like brake pads, tyres, clutches, or random gremlins—and it’s definitely not a warranty.

The catch? You generally need to use participating dealers to get the capped price, and the headline number can be higher than a sharp independent would charge.

Perks include price certainty, transferability to the next owner, and a tidy paper trail for resale. Read the fine print on what’s included, the intervals (time or km, whichever comes first), and any model-specific quirks before you book.
