Long before Ducati became what it is today, their production was small and medium capacity single-cylinder motorcycles, upon which a reputation was built as manufacturers of reliable, fast and beautiful motorcycles. Designed by the brillt engineer Fabio Taglioni, their single overhead cam, bevel drive single was an engineering masterpiece; from conception it was considered a highly advanced design by the motorcycling world. Starting from a diminutive 85cc, it went through various increases in capacity, right up to 450cc.

The 125cc version has a 55.2mm bore and 52mm stroke that with an 8:1 compression topped 10hp at 8500rpm. Fitted with a slick changing 4-speed g/box and a dry weight of 220lb, the 125 Sport easily met the quoted 70mph (and 102 mpg!), an unparallel speed for a 125 in the 1950s. Small but beautiful and unquestionably a true sports bike.

This particular example has undergone a full restoration including engine, gearbox & electrics, with complete in May 2021. Engine parts include new crank, new piston and valves guides, new clutch. Also fitted are new electrics, new spokes in the wheels, new upholstery and much much more. The original colour theme has been faithfully returned as will all other aspects of the bike. Located with our Belgium agent, the advertised price is for the bike in 100% completed condition, and includes shipping and arrival charges into , or similar to other ports.
