1971 Ducati 250 Scrambler

The Ducati Scrambler was originally conceived for the burgeoning American market and released in 1962. A fun bike that fitted perfectly with the times, it was well received and underwent continual modification until 1968, when the true Scramblers with “wide-casing” engines were released; first in 250 and 350 versions and then, in 1969, the 450.

One of the few production bikes to benefit from Desmo cylinder heads, the Scrambler also served as a perfect development bed for continual technical adjustment, right up until the last Scrambler production which ended 1974.

The Scrambler’s success was attributed to pedigree; the little bike’s frame was identical to that used in racing, and the engine was perfectly suited for its function. It was not the fastest bike of its day, but its general performance and fabulous ergonomics made it one of the most delightful machines of the era. It was, moreover, extremely stylish: rounded lines, simultaneously classical and modern, and bright colours contrasting with the black running gear and chrome gas tank.

By and large, the Scrambler was considered a balance between American and European schools of motorcycling. It was an extremely fashionable bike, and with the retro renascence dominating all current manufacturing trends, this stylish bike remains popular today.  This example is with our Ital agent and has been fully restored including engine & cosmetics, and presents as excellent value at the asking price, which includes shipping and arrival charges into .
