The Ducati 749R was/is one of the sweetest superbikes ever created. Imported from England in 2010, this bike was first registered in 2013. The 04 749R is the ‘must-have’ of all 749 models. In 03 FIM introduced a rule that prohibited retro fitting of ‘kit’ or factory racing components to bikes competing in the 04 World Supersport Championship. If a manufacturer wanted to win the WSS cup they had to sell exactly what their riders would race, and therefore the 04 749R was fitted with an amazing array of exotic components, titanium rods, valves etc, and magnesium castings usually only seen on the starting grid of the World Supersport Championship.

This beautiful example has traveled only 17,400k’s but never seen the track.  It is fitted with the WSS spec Termignoni slip-on (these were supplied with the bike from new), and also the ADR complt Termi is included with the sale.  As the pics detail, this bike is immaculate.

The owner advises there is a very minor weep starting on one fork seal, typical of Ohlin’s, and a very small crack appearing at one of the mounting holes in the windscreen. Although a relieving hole has been drilled in the screen, a new un-opened screen is included with the sale. The white racing background on the nose is non-original, but a brand-new OEM carbon nose is available if the buyer wishes to return this to OEM appearance.

All water hoses and clamps have been replaced with Samco silicone hoses/Samco stainless clamps, and the bike has been fitted with an STM slipper clutch, which is far superior to the standard problematic slipper. The bike was serviced by the local Ducati dealer at 17,146km, including checking valve shims and replacing cam belts and air filters.

Sale includes all oem keys (2 black and a red), two operator manuals (one new), the genuine tool kit, a new genuine Ducati workshop manual, original sales brochures and a couple of period magazines with tests/reviews. An absolutely superb ride with no issues whatsoever.  Included are a selection of minor spares, new and used indicators, screen blister lights, original heel guards etc. A fabulous example of the best 749R produced – it’s an absolute cracker!
