1976 Laverda 1000 3CL

With exception to the behemoth Munch Mammoth, in 1969 the biggest motorcycle you could buy was a 750cc, so when Massimo Laverda announced his little Breganze organisation was preparing to release a 1000cc triple at that year’s Milan motorcycle show, it caused quite the sensation!

On schedule, the 69 Milan Moto show saw the release of Laverda’s prototype, basically their 650 twin with an extra cylinder grafted on, it paid little resemblance to the production Laverda triple that finally hit showroom floors in 1972. Nonetheless, Laverda had given notice it was going up against the big-end of town, and when released, it was the only double overhead cam machine in its class and the largest capacity standard motorcycle on the market until Honda introduced the GL1000 in 1974.

The 1976 3CL example on offer here is in beautiful original condition and presently with our Ital agent. The advertised price includes shipping and arrival to Australia.
