The Desmosedici needs little introduction. The dream of all GP enthusiasts is to own a true GP replica, and in 2004 that finally came possible with creation of the Desmosedici RR; the first-ever road-going motorcycle to offer such a stunning wealth of performance and technology that came directly from Ducati’s experience in MotoGP racing.

The D16 was created in, and by, Ducati’s Corse Grand Prix racing department, and was a replication of the Desmosedici GP6, the same bike with which Loris Capirossi and Sete Gibernau competed in the 2006 MotoGP World Championship, and that a year later Casey Stoner would clinch the MotoGp World Championship. The body design and aerodynamics faithfully reflect the Desmosedici GP6, as does the colour scheme, bodywork fittings and materials used in its construction, as well as the technical features of the powerful four-cylinder desmodromic engine built by the Borgo Panigale factory engineers. All these points leave no doubts whatsoever to the Desmosedici RR being the ultimate expression of the most extreme MotoGP racing machine today.

This particular D16 was Austral delivered and has had only one previous owner/collector. The bike was used sparingly in the first few years amassing a paltry 2,900k’s before being sold by . The bike changed trustees in 2013 and the odometer has not increased; the bike was placed into a collection has remained there until being delivered to where it has been recommissioned, all fluids flushed and renewed.

The bike was fitted with the ultra-rare Titanium race exhaust (valued at circa 15k), and comes with the bike cover, all Ducati owners’ handbooks, original belly-pan & seat, original purchase documents & correspondence with Ducati Bologna and the Austral Importer, special DVD and various factory handbooks and spare parts catalogue.
