In 2023, Tesla delivered about 46,000 cars in Australia, taking roughly half the EV pie and a noticeable slice of the whole market. The Model Y did the heavy lifting with around 28,800 deliveries, while the Model 3 chipped in about 17,300. Battery-electric vehicles hit roughly 7.2% market share for the year, with Tesla very much the loudest guest at the barbecue. In short: the Americans turned up, parked next to the utes, and nobody asked them to leave.
