The Wentworth sand dunes, better known as the Perry Sandhills, sit just outside Wentworth in far south-west NSW. Picture sweeping, rust-red waves of sand that look borrowed from Mars, parked conveniently near the Murray–Darling junction. It’s a favourite for sandboarding, sunset photos, and the odd film shoot when someone needs “Australian Outback, but photogenic.” Access is straightforward in dry weather, though soft patches can humble overconfident 2WDs.
