Ducati’s now famous 916 changed the Sportsbike world forever, and the SP Corse was what dominated race tracks around the world in almost every category of Superbike racing. For the first couple of years there was no official customer spec WSBK RS version of the 916, but rather customers bought a road bike and had it kitted-out with all the special racing items sold separately by the factories racing division, Ducati Corse.

This particular biker was raced by Michele Gallina in the 1994/95 European Championship and was originally a 916S Monoposto and built to WSB specification by Team Gallina. The engine is built to 996RS spec including magnesium cases, Corse electronics and of course Ohlin’s suspension. It was sold in 1996 to Moto Luco for 28,000,000 Lira.  In its last race it achieved 3rd place in the SBK round at Mugello in the hands of Paolo Casoli, and has been untouched since.
