1986 Laverda SFC1000 Classic

The very first 120-degree RGS 1000-based SFC 1000 prototype (pre-production) was launched at the 1984 Cologne motor show. Uwe Witt, the then German Laverda importer, took it upon himself to promote this exciting new product. Such was the anticipation of Laverda’s new creation, that Laverda histor, Tim Parker wrote, having helped my friend Witt position the bike on his show booth, I commented that this was the “first triple worthy of the SFC nameplate, and very worthy at that.”

Falloon has similar appreciation of the model; in his Laverda Twins & Triples Bible (Veloce 2007), writes, “Although representing an earlier age, the SFC 1000 ensured the Laverda legend didn’t die with a whimper. With classically beautiful styling, the SFC 1000 also benefitted from nearly 15 years of development. What was already a robust design was perfected into an extremely reliable machine, with excellent handling and performance.”

This beautiful example is an early production with matching numbers and has enjoyed only 2 owners from new. This bike is located with our Austr agent and is sold with original owner’s manual and all service and repair records.
