Moto Guzzi produced the Stornello in various guises from 1960 to 1974. In early times the Stornello formed the basis of Guzzi’s competition department winning nationally and internationally in road and off-road racing championships. In 1967 the entire Stornello range was revamped and included the introduction of Sport, Italy Sport, America, & Scrambler models, the latter designed specifically for off-road competition.

The Moto Guzzi Stornello Sport looked similar to the earlier Turismo, but benefited from a host of performance improvements including non-parallel valves, a hemispherical combustion chamber, and higher comp, all of which resulted in a net gain of some 5 HP and lifting the Sport up to a whopping 12 HP! The Sport also featured a new racier seat and an open bell-mouth carb.

This beautiful little example has traveled less than 8,000 miles from New and has its original owner’s handbook and factory guarantee certificate made out to the first owner. Incredibly it also has a business card from the same official Guzzi dealer who conducted the sale.
