1972 Moto Guzzi Stornello Scrambler

Moto Guzzi produced the Stornello in various guises from 1960 to 1974. In early times the Stornello formed the basis of Guzzi’s competition department winning nationally and internationally in road and off-road racing championships. In 1967 the entire Stornello range was revamped and included introduction of Sport, Italy Sport, America, & Scrambler models, the latter designed specifically for off-road competition.

In 1969 the new models we displayed at Milan Motor Show and were an instant hit with the public. Sporting increased power and 5 speed gearbox, the Scrambler became the must-have for all serious off-road racers and went on to dominate competition at all levels. Such is the history of the Scrambler that in 2015 Moto Guzzi paid homage to the model in form, colour and function, with the release of the 2016 V7 II Stornello Scrambler.

This 1972 Stornello Scrambler has been beautifully restored to original condition and awarded FMI “Certificato di rilevanza storica e collezionistica”, in recognition of the authenticity of the restoration. An extremely rare part of Moto Guzzi history that could not be restored for anything remotely close to the asking price..
