The Pantah was Ducati’s first belt-driven motor, forming the vanguard of the factories new generation and direction that lead to today’s 1299 Panigale. First displayed in December 1979, the Pantah came on the market as the 1980 500SL and finished with the now highly sought-after 650SL; production finished in 1986. Successful in racing as the 600cc TT2 and later TT1 750cc racer, the Pantah was a lighter, shorter wheelbase motorcycle, and introduced the now famous trellis frame that was to become a trademark Ducati design feature.
